Abstract Body : Developmental Collections in the Human Developmental Anatomy Center at the National Museum of Health and Medicine are recognized for their contributions to our historic understanding of the developing human. We show here that historic collections of histologic and gross historical specimens such as the Carnegie Embryological Collection and the Patten-Burdii Collection have relevance to modern research and education using modern imaging and modeling technologies. Internet-based distribution of data and educational content developed from these historical collections, provide students and the general public tools for understanding development in new and exciting ways.
