Universitat de Barcelona, Spain
I received my degree in Biology from the Universitat de Barcelona in 2002 and finished my PhD in Biological Anthropology in 2007. From 2008 to 2019 I as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Calgary (Canada), Penn State University (USA),Center for Genomic Regulation and European Molecular Biology Laboratory (Spain). Since 2019 I am Associate Professor at the Universitat de Barcelona. My research links Genomics with Phenomics, combining imaging, genetic and morphometric techniques, to understand the past evolution of our species, as well as present human morphological variation, including pathological variation associated to disease. Mycurrent interest is to understand how the brain and the face are integrated in development, and how this can translate into biomarkers for genetic, rare and neurodevelopmental disorders.
