Dr. Amenu T. Wirtu, PhD in Neurosciences, was born in Ethiopia. Had been mentored by Prof. Marina Bentivoglio at University of Verona in Italy. A visiting Professor, & consultant faculty advisor at the A.M. Dogliotti College of Medicine, Liberia. Prof. of Anatomy & Neuroscience at Addis Ababa University.
Dr. Wirtu is an innovative & emotionally intelligent neuroscientist, who believes in quality education for every nation. Dr. Wirtu well understands the importance diversity, equity & inclusion at work. Dr.Wirtu is an active member of International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA). Dr. Wirtu is the now serving President of Anatomical Society of Ethiopia, with high records of awards, diplomas, certificates, scholarships, projects in medical education, research & services.
Dr. Wirtu is very competent, proficient and efficient at teaching of Anatomy, Histology, Embryology & Neuroscience to students of diverse backgrounds in medicine, pharmacy & other health sciences at different universities in Africa and beyond. Dr. Wirtu’s research activities mainly focused on elucidating the underlying mechanisms of neuroinflammation, aging-related neurodegenerative diseases, anatomical variations, imaging & diagnostics. Dr. Wirtu has several publications in peer reviewed reputable journals of high impact.
Dr.Wirtu has an outstanding experience in medical curriculum design, exposure, implementation & assessments. Dr. Wirtu sometimes engages in voluntarily community services & entrepreneurships.
