PhD Candidate
Loma Linda University
Ruth-Love Yeboah is a PhD candidate in the Department of Pathology and human anatomy at Loma Linda University, where she is conducting research on the regulation of Gdf5 during joint formation. Her work combines in silico, in vitro and in vivo techniques to understand which transcription factors regulate Gdf5 expression through a downstream enhancer element.
Prior to her graduate studies, Ruth-Love received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at Brandeis University. From there, she joined a startup company from her master’s thesis lab at Brandeis where she worked on diagnostic PCR assays and characterizing the performance of their leading PCR reagent.
She has published a book chapter on shoulder development and other research articles in review. After graduation, she looks forward to working as a postdoctoral scientist and studying underlying mechanisms of various diseases as well as efforts to bring therapies to patients
Outside of her research, Ruth-Love enjoys playing the guitar and perusing various Korean and Japanese drama and comic book series. She looks forward to sharing her work and learning from others at the upcoming conference.
