Dr. Izuchukwu Azuka Okafor holds a distinction joint doctorate in Reproductive Biology from Pan African University and the University of Ibadan, sponsored by the African Union Commission. His research focuses on the genetic expression and characterization of genes in females with primary infertility. Izuchukwu is a clinical embryologist and also teaches anatomy to medical and paramedical students at Nnamdi Azikiwe University. Izuchukwu has attended several conferences, workshops, and symposiums locally and internationally and has published over 30 scientific articles in reputable international academic journals. He has research interests spanning reproductive health sciences, anatomical sciences, medical education, science advocacy, and communication.
Izuchukwu has an unbridled passion for leadership and community development. He served as a student representative at PAULESI and is currently a member of the governing council of Pan African University. He has initiated and carried out several community development projects across Nigeria, which earned him a book recognition award and excellence awards from organizations and the Nigerian government. He is currently an AAA Ambassador, Africademics Ambassador, and has developed a systematic and strategic mentorship for young people interested in education, community development, and leadership.
Izuchukwu is an unequaled advocate for education and has attracted grants from international organizations for educational outreach projects in Nigeria as the project manager of the Lifeporté Educational project. He is open to academic and non-academic collaborations that will drive creativity and innovation and bring scientific solutions that will impact society.
