Rebecca is a second-year student in the Master's of Clinical Anatomy program at the University of Western Ontario in London, ON, Canada where she has taken courses in gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, histology, and teaching. She completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Western, where she found her passion for anatomy. Her work focuses on investigating the appearance and localization of Matrin3 in ALS cases using immunohistochemistry. Previous research has suggested that RNA-binding proteins, such as Matrin3, are mislocalizing and forming cytoplasmic inclusions. It is thought that this information could be used to improve current diagnostic methods or lead to potential treatment avenues in the future. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys board games and rock climbing.
