As an educator I have experience teaching anatomy, physiology, evolution, and histology. As a first-generation college student and McNair scholar whose career has been made possible by support from federal TRIO programs, I am driven to reform systemic barriers to equity in education. I have pioneered evidence-based undergraduate teaching practices at my current institution and believe that evidence-based teaching practices are the path to equity in higher education.
