Dr. Tarimobo Michael Otobo is a physician-scientist with a research focus on imaging biomarkers for pediatric musculoskeletal diseases. Dr. Otobo is also an anatomy educator with a special interest in academic technology application in low-resource settings. He received his Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSci) in 2005 and Master of Science (M.Sc.) in 2010 in Human Anatomy from Niger Delta University and the University of Benin, respectively. He was awarded the Doctor of Medicine (MD) qualification in 2015 from the Windsor University School of Medicine, St Kitts, and received a provisional licentiate in General Medicine and Surgery in 2016 from the Nigerian Medical and Dental Council.
Dr. Otobo attended the University of Toronto for his doctoral research, where he completed his Ph.D. at the Institute of Medical Science, University of Toronto, in December 2022. Dr. Otobo is recognized for his research in imaging biomarker outcome instrument development of the Juvenile Arthritis MRI Sacroiliac Score (JAMRIS-SIJ) outcome measurement instrument. Dr. Otobo is also a teaching assistant in Anatomy, in the Division of Anatomy, University of Toronto. He spends his spare time volunteering and playing squash racket.
