Dr. Heather F. Smith is a Professor in the Department of Anatomy at Midwestern University and Editor-in-Chief of The Anatomical Record. She is an evolutionary biologist and paleontologist who studies the functional morphology and systematics of fossil and extant turtles, carnivorans, and primates. She teaches gross anatomy to medical and health science graduate students. She was recently designated a Fellow of the American Association for Anatomy.
