Rebecca L. Pearl, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology and in Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions. She directs the Body Image and Stigma Lab, which conducts research on health- and appearance-related stigma. Her work primarily focuses on understanding the health consequences of weight stigma and developing interventions to reduce structural, interpersonal, and internalized stigma. Dr. Pearl’s research is supported by funding from the National Institutes of Health, including the 2022 NIH Director’s New Innovator Award. She completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Yale University, her predoctoral clinical internship at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, and her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.
