Sarah McConnell is originally from Connecticut. She completed the double-degree program at Oberlin College and Conservatory, receiving degrees in Neuroscience and Organ Performance. She then earned her MS and PhD in Neurobiology and Anatomy at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. After a few years of teaching as an adjunct instructor at colleges in the Rochester area, she joined the faculty in the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She currently teaches courses on human anatomy, histology, embryology, neuroanatomy, and neuroprosthetics to undergraduate, graduate, and medical students. Her research interests focus on methods to enhance teaching by leveraging the neuroscience of learning and memory.
