I am an established researcher based on the east coast of Canada. My lab studies the skeleton, primarily its development and its maintenance. Check out our website at www.bonedevelopmentlab.ca - we study everything from placode signaling, patterning, epithelial-mesenchymal interactions, skeletal condensations to the effects of mechanical forces on bone development and homeostasis. We are the only lab globally studying the ocular skeleton. We recently started studying the tracheal cartilage (check out our poster). Chicken embryos, zebrafish and cavefish are our model organisms.
While I work at a primarily undergraduate univeristy, I do supervise undergraduate and graduate students. I am passionate about supporting trainees in research and on improving inclusion within science for everyone. I'd love to speak to you about our research, provide career advice or anything else of mutual interest. Don't be shy.
