Inworks Innovation Initiative
Maxwell Walker is a Master's Candidate in the Modern Human Anatomy (MHA) Program at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, and works as a graduate researach assistant at Inworks Innovation Initiative. Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he completed his Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science at the University of New Mexico (UNM). His interest in anatomy began in highschool and continued throughout his time at UNM where he applied to the MHA program with the goal of remaining in academia. After a year in the MHA program, he found himself drawn to the world of anatomical visualization and the role it can play in preoperative planning and clinical education. Working at the Inworks Innovation Initiative he was able to combine his love of anatomy, and his interest of working with the queer community by creating preoperative planning models used in phalloplasy and facial feminization procedures. He now plans to work in industry in the field of clinical/biomechanical engineering where he can apply his anatomical knowledge and technological knowledge together to help guide and enhance surgical procedures.
