Janet is based at the University of Edinburgh where she is currently undertaking a PhD looking at access to dissecting rooms.
In 2018, Janet and Kat Sanders co founded Anatomy Nights, a public engagament event involving anatomists from around the world. They, along with Jason Organ, have recently been awarded an AAA innovation award to develop further resources for anatomists around the world to use for public engagament. Janet has also published books and appeared on televsion talking about William Burke and historical body supply. Janet has also been involved in anatomical art projects and is about to publish a second book chapter looking at anatomical felts, which she produces.
