Medical Student
Washington State University Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine
My name is Sue Winger, and I am currently a third-year medical student at the Washington State University Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine. I was born and raised in Spokane, WA, and attended the University of Idaho where I studied Microbiology and Medical Sciences. One of the highlights of my medical school journey thus far has been engaging in community outreach efforts that target rural and underserved student populations in Washington state. I have found these events especially impactful when they involve the anatomy lab at our institution. This is why I am excited to speak about the research that I have been working on with Dr. Shannon Helbling and Dr. Jessica Byram about the prevalence of anatomical donor use for anatomy outreach events across the country and perspectives on the associated ethical considerations. This is my first Anatomy Connected Conference, and I look forward to learning from all the bright minds that will be in attendance.
