Julia Jordan, PT, DPT, OCS, MA Ed completed her Masters of Education at the University of New Mexico, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at A.T. Still University. She is a board-certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and has been a practicing clinician for over 22 years. Since 2017, she has been on faculty for the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Presently, she is the lead anatomy instructor for the School of Medicine MD program, teaching foundational anatomy in the Clinical Morphology block, and providing anatomy curriculum support for organ systems blocks, residency programs, occupational therapy, and community outreach.
Dr. Jordan has collaborated with Dr. Rebecca Hartley to investigate the impact of Reciprocal Peer Teaching and Competence-Based Heterogenous Groupings on Assessment Outcomes for first year medical students in Clinical Morphology. They will be presenting a poster to share their findings at the AAMC/Western Group Collaborative Spring Conference in April 2023.
Dr. Jordan’s interest in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access stems directly from working with students in her current position. The University of New Mexico is proud of a highly diverse student body, with 57% of the incoming medical school cohort being comprised of students who identify as members of underrepresented minorities in medicine. Moreover, through individual and committee-driven curriculum development, she is committed to improving the experience of all students by helping make Phase 1 medical curriculum more accessible.
